In the political landscape of Spain, the Valencian regionalist party, Compromís, has been actively engaging in negotiations with the Spanish Government, particularly regarding autonomous financing for the Valencian Community. However, as of late July 2025, no specific public reports detailing the progress of these negotiations have been found.
The negotiations, while ongoing, have been primarily focused on other regions, such as Catalonia, with the Catalan Republican Left (ERC) and the Spanish Government in active discussions about fiscal arrangements and tax collection powers. Beyond the issue of autonomous financing, Compromís has advocated for more investment in railway infrastructure, a comprehensive reconstruction as a real economic investment in a climate emergency framework, and the suspension of the northward expansion of the port of Valencia due to the lack of a new environmental impact statement.
