Political strategist Prashant Kishor raises questions about the attainment of D.Litt degree by Bihar's deputy chief minister, Samrat Choudhary, amidst revelations that he reportedly hasn't completed class 10 education.

Political strategist Prashant Kishor disputes the authenticity of Bihar's deputy CM Samrat Choudhary's D-Litt degree, given that he lacks a class 10 education.

In the lead-up to the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, accusations of corruption and questionable practices have been levied against several key figures within the ruling coalition.

Allegations Against BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has accused BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal of operating a petrol pump in his Lok Sabha constituency that issues highly inflated bills to the local municipal corporation. Furthermore, it has been claimed that the petrol pump, by delaying the construction of a flyover for years, has been protecting its business.

Samrat Choudhary's Educational Background Under Scrutiny

Prashant Kishor has also targeted Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, questioning his educational credentials. Kishor has alleged that Choudhary did not clear his class 10 exams despite claiming to hold a D.Litt degree. The Bihar School Examination Board has confirmed that Choudhary failed his class 10 exam with 234 marks.

Additionally, Kishor has claimed that Choudhary has changed his name several times, from Rakesh Kumar to Samrat Choudhary.

Ashok Choudhary's Land Purchases under Investigation

Kishor has also accused JD(U) national general secretary and state minister Ashok Choudhary of purchasing land worth ₹200 crore in the last three years through 'dubious and illegal' means. The land was purchased in the name of Ashok Choudhary's daughter, who is a Lok Sabha MP, and his wife.

Evidence suggests that money was routed through Ashok Choudhary's wife's accounts to a Patna-based trust associated with his daughter's in-laws. Kishor has also alleged that the process to route funds to the trust began immediately after Ashok Choudhary's daughter's engagement.

The Silence of Ruling Coalition Leaders

Despite repeated attempts, the ruling coalition leaders could not be reached for comment.

Prashant Kishor's Comparison to Lalu Prasad

Kishor has gone so far as to claim that leaders of the NDA government in Bihar are more corrupt than RJD president Lalu Prasad. He has also accused Nitish Kumar of selecting Ashok Choudhary, a corrupt politician, as a minister in Bihar.

Samrat Choudhary's Murder Case

Kishor has also accused Samrat Choudhary of being an accused in a murder case in 1998 but being released as he turned out to be a minor.

Kishor has called on the Election Commission to ask Samrat Choudhary to produce his class 10 (pass) certificate and has questioned Ashok Choudhary's relationship with the trust and asked how the trust started buying huge tracts of land suddenly.

Samrat Choudhary's Doctor of Literature degree was awarded by Purbanchal University, and he completed his tenth grade in 1978.

Prashant Kishor's Accusations Against Sanjay Jaiswal

Sanjay Jaiswal, in response to the accusations, has been quoted as calling Prashant Kishor a 'petrol chor' (thief of petrol) and of making false allegations against him.

As the assembly elections in Bihar approach, these controversies are likely to continue to dominate the political landscape.
