Political party FDP kicks off its election campaign with favourable polling results

In the latest poll conducted by INSA, the research director of which is Hermann Binkert, the race for the direct election of the German Federal Chancellor is showing some interesting shifts.

The Green party, led by Annalena Baerbock, is experiencing a slight dip in support, with a direct election result of 19% (a minus-1 point from the previous week). However, this is not a significant drop, as Baerbock's party still remains a strong contender. Previously, Baerbock had received a direct election result of 20%, but this week, she saw a four-point decrease.

The Social Democratic Party (SPD), led by Olaf Scholz, is showing a more promising picture. Scholz's party is currently at 18%, marking a one-point increase from the previous week. Interestingly, Scholz also saw a direct election result of 19% in the past week, indicating a slight fluctuation in support.

The Union party, traditionally a strong force in German politics, is showing a slight decrease in support. Armin Laschet, the party's leader, remains at 15% in the latest poll for the direct election result, a minus-1 point from the previous week. The Union party as a whole is at 23%, a one-point decrease from the previous week.

The Left party is also experiencing a slight decrease in support, with a direct election result of 5% (a minus-1 point from the previous week). The AfD remains stable at 12%, while the Free Democrats are seeing an increase in support. The Free Democrats are currently at 15% in the latest poll, an increase of 2 points from the previous week.

It's worth noting that other parties are expected to receive 4% in the latest poll, a decrease of 1 point compared to the previous week. The Greens, who were previously at 23%, are now at 22%, a one-point decrease.

These poll results provide a fascinating snapshot of the current political landscape in Germany. As the election draws near, it will be interesting to see how these trends continue to evolve.
