Nnamdi Iroegbu Slams Bola Tinubu: Prioritizing 2027 Politics Over Nigerian People's Woes
Political Indifference or Focus Shift: Tinubu Disregards Security Concerns, Prioritizes 2027 Aspirations - assertion by PDP Leader, Iroegbu
In an explosive comment, Nnamdi Iroegbu, a high-ranking member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has slammed President Bola Tinubu, accusing him of putting his 2027 political ambitions above the needs of the Nigerian people struggling with insecurity.
According to our sources, Iroegbu alleged that the President, serving as the "consoler in chief," had a duty to visit states hit by brutal bandit attacks while he was abroad. He lamented that Tinubu failed to embody humanity and empathy during these trying times, taking a jab at his leadership.
"The painful reality before us is that our leader doesn't seem to care about the citizens," Iroegbu said during an interview on Arise News. "He's the consoler in chief, not just the commander in chief. During his absence, our fellow citizens were brutally murdered, and upon his return, he didn't bother to visit the affected areas, such as Plateau and Benue. It's disappointing and indicates a distressing lack of human connection in him."
Iroegbu stressed the need for Nigerians to take their destiny into their hands by choosing a leader who prioritizes their well-being and addresses their concerns. He added that Tinubu's focus on politics and mass defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for 2027, despite widespread insecurity and grassroots misery, demonstrates disregard for the suffering of Nigerians.
"Under your watch, President Tinubu, the people of Nigeria are enduring suffering, and insecurity escalates daily. While you spend time attending other events, such as weddings, the people suffer," Iroegbu continued. "I hope that this harsh critique will wake up the Nigerian people to realize that their fate isn't predetermined and they have the power to demand better leadership from those who govern them."
