Political Future at Stake: Put Forward Your Political Suggestions to Tinubu Before It's Too Late, Advises Bwala to Atiku by 2027

Get ready for a heated exchange, folks! The special advisor to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, the flamboyant Daniel Bwala, has thrown his hat into the ring, taking aim at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Urging him to shelve his dreams of ever leading Nigeria.

Bwala claimed it's not in the cards for Atiku, declaring that God hasn't destined him to don the presidential mantle. During a TVC interview on Monday, the presidential aide laid down the law, urging Atiku to submit any good ideas he might have for the country to Tinubu for implementation, so he can at least claim credit for doing something good for Nigeria.

Words flowed as freely as expletives from a sailor, with Bwala warning that if Atiku sticks to his guns and runs for the 2027 election, it could spell doom for his political career. The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate has already lost the faith of many of his supporters, according to Bwala.

"Let me tell you, my former boss, if I ever get a chance to speak with him face to face, this is what I'd say: Your Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, you need to believe in destiny. God gives power to whoever He chooses, and it looks like, if we go by the facts on the ground, it may not have been God's will for you to govern Nigeria."

Since you and President Tinubu go way back, why not team up and share your ideas for a better Nigeria? That way, your legacy will demonstrate that even in your twilight years, you managed to attain some of your goals, despite the fact that you may still hold onto the dream of being president.

But if he's adamant about running and becoming president, well, his political end may not be as sweet as he thinks, because right now, within his political circle, he's lost a significant number of supporters—sixty to seventy percent."

Our website reports that Bwala went on to say that Atiku may no longer be the ideal candidate for president, with many Nigerians now looking towards a younger and presumably more energetic leader.

"And now, with this younger generation poised to take over, they feel it's their time and their right to run. And for quite some time now, they haven't shown any signs of backing down or giving up their dreams. They seem pretty determined."

Daniel Bwala, a Nigerian lawyer and political analyst, is currently Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu. Prior to his current role, he worked on Atiku Abubakar's campaign team during the 2023 presidential race before eventually aligning with Tinubu.

In recent statements, Bwala has advised Atiku Abubakar to abandon his 2027 presidential ambitions, citing his repeated electoral failures as a sign that it's not God's will for him to be president based on his six unsuccessful bids. He has also suggested that Atiku collaborate with Tinubu to contribute to national development and secure a political legacy as well as critique the PDP for lacking direction, hinting that Atiku may soon endorse Tinubu given the party's organizational challenges. Bwala has framed this advice as part of broader concerns about opposition viability, warning against Nigeria becoming a one-party state while celebrating APC's growing dominance.
