Get ready for a fresh political shakeup! Former AfD chairwoman Frauke Petry, known for her controversial exit from the far-right party, is gearing up to debut a brand-new political force. Petry intends to run in state elections as early as 2026, with Baden-Württemberg being the first battleground. The new political group, yet unnamed, will emphasize an anti-statist, libertarian agenda, offering a sparkling contrast to the current political landscape.

"The party system has a gap that's not between the CDU and AfD, but in the void of a rebellious, flirtatious-with-the-West, libertarian offering," Petry shared in an exclusive interview with Welt. Expect a program that champions a complete rejuvenation of our cultural ties to the West and a politically daring, zestful alternative to the dull, bureaucratic establishment.

Petry's vision involves scaling back the government's share in the economy from around a whopping 50% down to a mere 25% within five years. "I dream of making Germany an Eldorado for entrepreneurs," she declared, hinting at a shift towards economic liberation.

Petry's Fiery Exit from AfD

While Petry co-founded the AfD with Bernd Lucke back in 2013, internal squabbles drove her to leave the party after the 2017 federal election. The chemist-turned-politician taking aim at Thuringia's AfD state chairman Björn Höcke, who led a far-right faction within the party.

In the following years, Petry served as an independent MP until 2021, when she also founded the Blue Party. However, failure to make an impact during state elections in Saxony and Thuringia eventually led to the Blue Party's dissolution at the end of 2019.

Team Freedom: The Rise of Rebellion

Petry and a gang of like-minded allies founded Team Freiheit in secret a few months ago, setting the stage for this rebellious movement. This time around, she seeks to represent the 98% of citizens who do not belong to any political party. The unique selling point of this new political force? It won't force citizens to apply for party membership. Instead, candidates will be drawn from the ranks of independent entrepreneurs and citizens who embody the party's rebellious spirit.
