Political Discourse Erupts in Bihar as Rahul Gandhi Addresses Topics of Voting, Food Rations, and Land Ownership
In a significant move, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi embarked on the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar on August 19, 2025. The yatra, which began from Sasaram, is making its way through several districts of the state, gaining attention across Bihar.

The Chief Election Commissioner has asked Rahul Gandhi to provide voter ID numbers as proof or submit an affidavit within seven days. However, the Election Commission has released the list of 65 lakh deleted names from Bihar, stating it was done to remove duplicates and ineligible voters.
The yatra is intended to continue highlighting the importance of voter rights and how they connect with everyday life and democracy. Rahul Gandhi repeated that he believes the last Bihar election was stolen and emphasised that the poor in today's India only have their vote left as power.
The list of deleted names from Bihar was published district-wise within 56 hours to ensure transparency. Despite the Election Commission's actions, Gandhi maintains that the deletion of names is a deliberate attempt to manipulate the elections.
