Political activist Anna Hazare accuses the AAP party of their election loss being attributed to their liquor policy.

In the aftermath of the Delhi elections, various political leaders have voiced their opinions on the outcome, with key figures such as Anna Hazare, Sudhir Mungantiwar, and Sanjay Raut expressing their views.

Anna Hazare, the renowned social activist, has been vocal about his belief that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lost the elections due to prioritizing money over selfless public service. In a letter to Arvind Kejriwal, Hazare expressed concern over the controversial liquor policy implemented by the Delhi government, stating that power intoxicates and Kejriwal seems intoxicated by it. His warnings, however, were ignored.

Hazare's concerns were echoed by Sanat Pai Raikar, a person mentioned in a letter to Kejriwal, who felt betrayed by reports on the Delhi government's liquor policy. The policy, which was implemented in November 2021 but scrapped in September 2022 due to corruption allegations, has been a subject of intense scrutiny. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have alleged irregularities in the policy, claiming the AAP government granted undue favors to liquor license holders.

Raut, a Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, claimed that the BJP won the Delhi election by implementing the 'Maharashtra pattern'. He alleged that the BJP targeted AAP leader Kejriwal through central agencies, arrested and imprisoned prominent AAP leaders, and added bogus voters to the electoral rolls, similar to their actions in Maharashtra.

On the other hand, Sudhir Mungantiwar, a senior BJP leader, credited the leadership of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for the BJP's victory in Delhi. He also predicted that the BJP will also win the Bihar Assembly polls. Amit Shah, the President of the BJP, instructed the police not to entertain any complaints regarding the distribution of money during the elections. Raut, however, alleged that money was distributed until the polling day, and he personally witnessed tables set up for this purpose.

As the political landscape in Delhi continues to evolve, these accusations and concerns highlight the complexities of Indian politics and the ongoing debates surrounding transparency, corruption, and electoral integrity.
