In a thrilling turn of events, the Indiana Fever have made it to the semifinals of the WNBA playoffs, marking their first playoff series win since 2015. This major upset came against the No. 3 seed Atlanta Dream in a nail-biting elimination game on Thursday night.

The victory was secured by a narrow 87-85 margin, with Kelsey Mitchell leading the charge for Indiana, scoring 24 points in the game. Odyssey Sims, another Fever star, sustained an injury during the game but was able to continue after a review, thanks in part to her teammate Sophie Cunningham's steadfast support.

Cunningham, a star player for the Fever, was forced to watch the game from the sidelines due to a knee injury. However, she was involved in a standoff with a police officer during the game. The incident occurred when a police officer approached Cunningham for an infringement on the court and motioned for her to backup. Cunningham, however, refused to budge and stared down the officer with her hands on her hips. Despite the tense moment, no flagrant foul was called, and Sims made both of her free throws.

The drama didn't end there. During the game, Allisha Gray of the Dream intercepted a layup attempt by Sims, sending her crashing to the court. Caitlin Clark, another Fever player, was among those who were upset by the events on the court.

Allisha Gray led Atlanta with 19 points and 12 rebounds for her first playoff double-double. Rhyne Howard scored 16 points in the game for Atlanta, while Jordin Canada also had a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists.

The Indiana Fever will now face a tough challenge in the semifinals, but their determination and resilience have shown they are a force to be reckoned with. The team's journey continues as they strive for WNBA glory.
