Police in Waterloo Region continue hunt for missing adolescent girls

Great news! The Waterloo Regional Police Service has announced that 15-year-old Aleena from Kitchener and 17-year-old Sophia from Waterloo are no longer missing. They were initially reported missing after being last seen at Bramalea City Centre in Brampton, with police suspecting they may have been in the Toronto, Etobicoke, or Mississauga areas[1][2][3].

Aleena stood at 5'6" with an athletic build, sporting long curly hair, while Sophia, 5'4" with a slim build, had long dark locks[1][3].

Julie Sawatzky, Aleena's mother, had reached out to our website News, expressing her heartfelt plea, "We desperately want them to come home. They are not in trouble and whatever they're involved with, at whatever level, everything can be made right again and we just want them home safe."

For those who might have seen the girls after March 29, the Waterloo Regional Police Service had asked to contact them at 519-570-9777, ext. 8191. Additionally, Crime Stoppers was also an option for anonymous tips at 1-800-222-8477 or online[1][3].

Now that the girls have returned home, these contacts are primarily for general inquiries or future incidents. Kudos to the Waterloo Regional Police Service for their exceptional work in securing the teenagers' safe return!

Aleena's mother, Julie Sawatzky, expressed her relief after the Waterloo Regional Police Service announced that her daughter, along with Sophia from Waterloo, who were initially reported missing, have been found safely. The police had been investigating their possible whereabouts in the Toronto, Etobicoke, or Mississauga areas, but they were ultimately located. The police service is now renewing their focus on general news, with crime and justice now taking a secondary role in terms of updates related to the case of the missing teens. Joanne Belangiero, the editor-in-chief of general-news, acknowledged the major impact the story had on the local community and commended the police for their diligent efforts in securing the safe return of Aleena and Sophia.

Regional Police of Waterloo are again appealing for data regarding the vanishing of two adolescent females.
