On Monday night, September 1st, 20XX, the Bremerhaven Police intervened in an illegal street racing incident on Langener Landstraße. Two high-performance vehicles, a VW Phaeton and a Mercedes E-Model, were seized as evidence and towed away after the drivers were caught speeding dangerously and driving diagonally offset.

According to the information transmitted via news aktuell, the two individuals involved in the incident were a 23-year-old driver of the VW Phaeton and a 24-year-old driver of the Mercedes E-Model. Upon inspection, the police found that the engines and brakes of the vehicles were severely overheated, indicating the high speeds they had been travelling at.

The drivers received citations for illegal street racing, an offence punishable by severe fines according to the German Criminal Code (§315d). Organizing or participating in an illegal street race can result in imprisonment of up to two years or a fine. If a race results in endangerment of other road users, a prison sentence of up to five years may be imposed.

In addition to the citations, the drivers had to surrender their driver's licenses. Possible consequences for illegal street racing include up to three points in the Flensburg driving ban register, possible revocation of the driver's license, and the requirement for a medical-psychological examination (MPU).
