Datuk Mancha Ata, the first Dayak to hold the post of Sarawak Police Commissioner, is set to retire from his position on September 29 after a distinguished career spanning nearly three decades in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Hailing from Asajaya, Samarahan, Mancha Ata served in various key positions in Sarawak before being appointed to the top post in November 2023. His career in the PDRM took him across Perak, Sabah, and Sarawak, where he served as deputy commander of the General Operations Force (GOF) brigade and later as commander of the same brigade in Sarawak.

Before becoming commissioner, Mancha Ata was the deputy commissioner of Sarawak Police. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve in his homeland and expresses his gratitude for the trust, support, and cooperation given throughout his tenure.
