Police Car Crash in Vienna Injures 11-Year-Old Girl
A police car responding to an emergency call in Vienna on Saturday evening crashed into a stationary vehicle, pushing it into another car ahead. The incident on the rain-slicked Neubaugürtel left an 11-year-old girl with minor injuries.
The police vehicle, attempting an emergency brake, failed to stop in time. It collided with the rear of a stationary car, driven by a 44-year-old man, at a red light. The impact propelled the stationary vehicle into the car in front of it, driven by the man.
The driver's 11-year-old daughter, who was in the car, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Vienna Traffic Accident Commission (Verkehrsunfallkommando Wien) is now investigating the incident.
The crash occurred during a police operation involving the police car and two parked cars. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation by the Vienna Traffic Accident Commission.
