Over the weekend, the cops in Thuringia, a German state, took action against two extreme right-music events. In Kloster Veßra, Hildburghausen district, a police patrol spotted a cluster of cars with out-of-state license plates parked in front of a restaurant on Friday. The operator of the event, known to the police for his affiliations with the extreme right-wing scene, tried to keep the occasion under wraps. But the officers soon discovered an unregistered music event, and the gathering was promptly shut down. Identities of the attendees were recorded for further investigation.
Similarly, police in the northern part of Thuringia thwarted an extreme right-wing concert that was advertised as a Christmas party. A well-known figure from the extreme right-wing scene had invited folks to the concert. To keep the event low-key, the police didn't reveal the exact location of the concert. But apparently, the word had spread among the enthusiasts, resulting in a limited turnout. The audience was eventually turned away due to the ban on the concert.
