In a series of events that have left the music industry buzzing, a suspect has been arrested in connection with the theft of unreleased Beyoncé music and other items in Atlanta.

On July 8, a rental car parked in a parking deck off Krog Street was broken into, and five jump drives containing watermarked music, some unreleased music, footage plans for the show, and past and future set lists were taken. Investigators have not recovered these hard drives to this day.

The vehicle used in the crime was a 2025 Hyundai Elantra with Georgia plates, and surveillance cameras in the parking garage captured the incident. It was later discovered that this same vehicle was also involved in a theft of a MacBook Air laptop, which was pinging at the Hank Aaron Drive complex on the day of the theft.

Kelvin Evans, a man with a long arrest record dating back to 2002, is believed to have been the perpetrator. Evans, who had rented the Hyundai Elantra, claimed he needed the car for five minutes and later stated he went to a friend's house. However, surveillance video from the apartment complex shows Evans, his niece, and a small child handling the stolen bags.

Evans returned the rental car with four black bags inside. One of the stolen items, a MacBook Pro laptop, was found to be pinging at an address in Hapeville on the day of the theft.

In addition to the stolen music and laptops, several other items, including AirPods and two suitcases, were also taken. Evans is now facing a charge of entering an automobile with intent to commit theft.

On Aug. 26, Evans was arrested by police in Hapeville for a parole violation. He is currently being held in the Fulton County Jail, with a $20,000 bond, according to jail records.

Despite the arrest, the stolen music remains unrecovered, leaving fans and the music industry eagerly awaiting its return. The investigation is ongoing.
