Police and cycling advocacy group ADFC in Dortmund team up for a joint bicycling event on July 28, aimed at promoting safe cycling for people of all ages during the holiday season.
The cities of Dortmund, in partnership with the Dortmund Police and ADFC Dortmund, are gearing up for a summer holiday campaign focused on promoting safe and technically sound cycling. The campaign, which runs from July 28 to August 8, invites children, young people, adults, and seniors to participate in cycling training or pick up safety tips.
The campaign kickoff will take place on July 28 at 11:00 AM at the Fredenbaum Youth Traffic School, located at Münsterstr. 270 C, Dortmund-Mitte. Both Dortmund Police President Gregor Lange and Heide Kroger-Brenner, Chairperson of ADFC Dortmund, will be present at the event.
The campaign aims to reach all generations and raise awareness of risks in traffic. It encourages the use of the right equipment, including helmets, for prevention. Children under 10 years old may only participate in the exercises if accompanied.
Dr. Andreas Bach from ADFC Dortmund emphasizes the importance of using high-quality U-locks to properly protect expensive bikes and securing them to fixed objects. Media appointments with Police President Gregor Lange on July 28 will be available for sound bites and visual material.
The exact dates for the exercises can be found on the tour schedule available at [specific website]. Registration and information for the exercises can be obtained via email at [email protected] and by phone at 0231/136685.
Journalists with questions should contact Felix Groß at the Dortmund Police at 0231/132-1034 or via email at [email protected].
The goal of the campaign is to promote visibility, technical safety, and a good feeling in the saddle. By participating, cyclists can learn valuable safety tips and enjoy a secure cycling experience during their summer holidays in Dortmund.
