Stuttgart Spring Festival 2025: Ensuring Safety and Security

The Stuttgart Spring Festival 2025, set to take place from April 19 to May 11, is gearing up for its 85th round on the Cannstatter Wasen. With over 100 officers in action every day, the focus remains on ensuring the safety and security of its visitors.

To maintain a peaceful and secure environment, a weapons and knife ban applies throughout the festival grounds. Visitors are strongly advised to avoid carrying knives or any dangerous objects. The organizer will conduct controls with its security service at the entrances to ensure that no prohibited objects enter the festival grounds.

In addition to prevention measures, the participation of the recruitment advisory service is planned on April 22nd and May 7th. On these specific days, an information booth will be located opposite the tunnel entrance from Mercedes street, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. On May 7th, the Federal Police will join the information booth.

The Red Cross, fire department, event organizer, Federal Police, and the police deployment forces of the Wasen watch work closely together during the festival. A sophisticated security concept and state-of-the-art video technology are employed for the event.

Prevention patrols will be on the festival grounds during the specified time frame. German police at the festival actively monitor for public safety issues. If individuals appear overly intoxicated or vulnerable, they may be taken to a monitoring station for their safety rather than penalized unless laws are broken. Visitors are advised to comply with police instructions to support overall security at the festival.

Pickpocketing is a concern at large festivals, and the Stuttgart Spring Festival is no exception. Visitors are encouraged to carry the minimum valuables and money, use bags that close securely, and keep them in front of their body. Staying vigilant in crowded areas, particularly near food vendors, tents, and during crowded events, can help prevent pickpocketing. Travel in groups if possible, to reduce vulnerability.

For more information, visitors can inform themselves at an information stand, with officers of the Prevention Department providing information. For inquiries, contact Stuttgart Police Headquarters Press Office during office hours at 0711 / 8990 - 1111 or email [email protected]. For specific and updated information, checking official Stuttgart Spring Festival or local police websites before attending would be advisable.

The Stuttgart Police Headquarters can also be reached outside office hours at 0711 8990-3333 or by email at [email protected]. The police appeal to all visitors to act responsibly and refrain from bringing knives and dangerous objects to the festival. The safety of festival visitors is the focus of the Stuttgart police during the event.
