Polar Bears Need Rest: 'Break Comes at the Right Time' - Polar Bears Berlin Struggle in DEL as Injuries Mount

Polar Bears Berlin, the reigning champions of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), find themselves in eighth place after a challenging start to the season. Injuries have taken a toll on the team, which suffered a 1-4 loss to Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven due to low energy levels and poor execution.

Head coach Serge Aubin admitted that the team had nothing left to give after the loss, highlighting the fatigue among players due to excessive ice time caused by injuries. Forward Jean-Sébastien Dea is the latest casualty, sustaining an upper-body injury that will keep him out for several weeks. Defenseman Jonas Müller, however, remains optimistic, believing the team can still climb the standings despite severe personnel shortages.

The international break comes at the right time for the Polar Bears, allowing players to rest and recharge. The team is expected to be strengthened by the return of key players, including top scorer Maximilian Daubner and defenseman Lukas Reichel, as well as potential new signings in the second half of the season.

Polar Bears Berlin will return to training on November 14 to prepare for their matchup against Nuremberg Ice Tigers. Despite their current position, the team hopes to bounce back and defend their title, relying on the recovery of injured players and potential reinforcements to bolster their lineup.
