Poker Tournament Barcelona 2011

The European Poker Tour (EPT) made its 22nd visit to Barcelona, Spain, from August 18 to August 31, 2021, at the iconic Casino Barcelona. This year's event featured a diverse range of poker tournaments, extensive live streaming coverage, and a total of 20 different competitions.

The schedule included various poker tournaments, with No-Limit Hold'em (NLH) tournaments being the mainstay. The buy-ins for these events ranged from a few hundred to several thousand euros, with specific buy-ins such as €900 + 100 for prior EPT events.

One of the unique events at EPT Barcelona 2021 was the Spin & Go Championship Live, held on August 30–31. This live event featured the Spin & Go format, guaranteeing a prize pool of €275,000, with €100,000 for the winner. Qualification for this event was based on leaderboard performance and freerolls.

Poker enthusiasts could follow key events remotely through the PokerStars TV channel, which provided live streaming and coverage of the Main Event, highlighting the action, player highlights, and major pay-outs.

The Main Event itself had two Day 1 tournaments (Day 1A on August 27 and Day 1B on August 28), each with a buy-in of €5,000 + €300. The final two days of the Main Event were also scheduled for live television broadcast.

Other notable tournaments included the Turbo No Limit Hold'em with bounties, scheduled for August 27, 28, and 30, the No Limit Hold'em tournament on August 29, the Pot-Limit Omaha tournament on August 29, and the Ladies NL Hold'em Tournament on September 1.

The variety of tournaments catered to all levels of players, offering Hold'em, Omaha, full and short tables, turbo and heads-up events, a tournament for women, rebuys, and bounty events. The buy-ins for these tournaments ranged from €330 to €10,300.

As the European Poker Tour Barcelona 2021 drew to a close, the focus shifted to other upcoming events. The next stage of the European Poker Tour will take place in the capital of Catalonia, Spain.

In addition to the poker action, football fans could also look forward to the local team's match against "Villarreal" at "Camp Nou" on August 29.

For the most detailed schedule and buy-ins, players were advised to refer to the official EPT or PokerStars announcements released ahead of the series.

I'm playing poker at the EPT Barcelona 2021, and it could be a sport to some, given the diverse range of tournaments, extensive live streaming coverage, and total of 20 different competitions, just like any other sporting event. The Spin & Go Championship Live, held on August 30–31, is an example of the unique sports-like aspect of the tournament, featuring a prize pool of €275,000 and qualification based on leaderboard performance and freerolls.
