EPISODE 1: TOM SCUDAMORE RECALLS CELEBRATING NUNS AND HIS DREAM RIDE THAT NEVER WAS, VAUTOUR

In his storied career, Tom Scudamore recalls a one-of-a-kind memory, cheering on his father's 1988 Champion Hurdle victory aboard Celtic Shot, courtesy of his energetic Catholic school teacher—a nun.

"Remembering that day, I was at a Catholic school, all set in the car, listening to the radio," Scudamore said, "and as Celtic Shot surged ahead, my teacher, unawares of betting, nonethless, could not contain her excitement, practically flying across the road in a whirlwind of jubilation."

Riding against racing titans Kauto Star and Denman, none would capture Scudamore's heart more than the Willie Mullins-trained Vautour, a horse hampered by unfortunate circumstances that never allowed its full potential to flourish.

"The array of horses I adored transcended generations," Scudamore shared. "But if I could have ridden any, it would be Vautour; a horse, unfortunately, that never realized its complete potential."

A music enthusiast at heart, Scudamore revealed that The Rolling Stones' "Start Me Up" evokes the sensation of the Cheltenham Festival for him.

"If the Cheltenham Festival had a soundtrack, it'd definitely be 'Start Me Up' by The Rolling Stones," Scudamore declared.*"When I witnessed the Stones live, they opened with this track, and the moment Keith [Richards] strummed that first chord amidst the fireworks, it brought to mind the electrifying commotion that greets the Supreme Novices' Hurdle's start; a moment of pure exhilaration."
