Pleasant summer temperatures return, bringing bright sunlight and approximately 30-degree warmth.
The German Weather Service (DWD) has forecast a friendly and dry weekend for almost the whole of Germany, with the return of summer weather to most parts of the country.
According to meteorologist Marcel Schmid from the DWD, the southern half of Germany is expected to be sunny, warm, and calm, with temperatures climbing to a maximum of 27 to 34 degrees Celsius, and the highest values in the southwest. In contrast, the north and northwest will be milder, with temperatures ranging from 21 to 27 degrees Celsius.
However, the weather in the north will be a bit moody, with occasional clouds and showers expected. The meteorologist predicts that the sun will often prevail over the clouds, making it a suitable day for outdoor activities like visiting swimming pools, ice cream cafes, and lakes.
Evenings in the southern half are expected to be long and suitable for outdoor activities like barbecues, open-air cinema, or reading on the balcony.
Individual showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout Germany, with central to southern regions being more likely to experience these weather phenomena. The highest values on Sunday will be 20 to 25 degrees Celsius in the north, 25 to 30 degrees Celsius in the middle, and 30 to 33 degrees Celsius in the south.
Meteorologist Schmid expects the summer weather to last for several days. However, it will be a bit cooler at the coasts, with 24 degrees expected there. On Sunday, thunderstorms can form over the southern mountain ranges, particularly from the Black Forest to eastern Bavaria.
For the most precise guidance including timing and exact shower/thunderstorm locations, consulting real-time precipitation radar and model updates through trusted weather platforms like Ventusky or regional meteorological services hours before and during the weekend is recommended. It's worth noting that no severe tornado activity is forecast for this weekend.
