VfB Friedrichshafen Gears Up for 2025/2026 Volleyball Season

VfB Friedrichshafen is set to make a strong comeback in the upcoming 2025/2026 volleyball season. After receiving the green light from doctors for his comeback, Aleksa Batak, the team's setter, is ready to take the court once again following a long injury break.

The team's preparations for the challenging season are well underway. Head coach Adam Swaczyna has called the first players for training ten weeks before the Bundesliga kick-off, with Batak, Simon Kohn, Daniel Habermaas, and Lucas Huckle also returning to the team. In the coming days, the team will have intensive training sessions in the weight room, supplemented by daily beach volleyball sessions to build their competition hardness.

The VfB's preparations for the season can be followed closely through their official site and social media channels. The team's roster and individual players' profiles are available on their website, while their TikTok and Instagram accounts provide insights into training routines and lineup explanations, helping fans stay updated on the players' preparations and tactical setups for the season.

VfB Friedrichshafen will participate in not one, but two competitions next season. They will compete in the German Bundesliga, as well as the 2025/2026 CEV Cup, a European club competition. The team's first official match will be on Sunday, February 15, 2026, against Baden Volleys SSC Karlsruhe, starting at 17:00 local time.

The team plays at the Spacetech Arena in Friedrichshafen, and season tickets for the VfB's matches, including the match against Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen, will remain valid. Individual tickets for the round of 16 game, as well as all Bundesliga matches until the end of the year, will be available starting August 25.

In a positive mood, the players are eager for the season ahead. Swaczyna acknowledges that there are no easy or more difficult draws in the cup, and that the team needs to be fully concentrated and give their best in every match to reach the final. The first public appearance of the team will be this Friday at the Beachdays in Überlingen, where Batak, Kohn, Habermaas, and Huckle will play an exhibition game against TSV Mimmenhausen.

Swaczyna has given up his activity as co-trainer of the Polish national team to focus on the season preparation with the VfB. The last cup victory for the VfB was in the 2021/2022 season, and the 2017 title win involved matches against the Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen, who they will face again in the round of 16 of the Ligacup, with the match scheduled for Sunday, November 9.

Batak expressed his emotion upon returning, stating it felt good to stand on the field pain-free and have the ball in his hands. Batak has been working closely with athletic trainer Justin Ziolkowski during the off-season to ensure a smooth comeback.
