Player of Oblivion Remastered opts for non-violent approach, successfully completing the RPG without harming innocent individuals or committing theft, even amidst a near-ruin of the mission

In a recent thread on Reddit, user 'ecolune' shared their successful run of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, completing the main story without assaulting innocents or stealing anything except for the single mandatory stolen item in the main quest (Mysterium Xarxes).

This impressive feat was achieved through a pacifist playstyle focused on stealth, charm, and illusion magic. Ecolune's approach relied heavily on these skills to bypass enemies or avoid combat altogether. If fights were unavoidable, spells and sneak tactics were used to minimize or eliminate the need to kill anyone aside from quest-required actions.

However, the one forced "steal" could not be bypassed without breaking the intended story progression, as the game flags that theft as part of the quest objectives. This method did not involve any jail time, trespassing, or horse theft, maintaining a "lawful good" or peaceful gameplay run.

Ecolune's peaceful run was documented in an online thread and a video, attracting comments from fellow gamers. One commenter jokingly suggested playing the remastered version as a vampire Dunmer, robbing houses and feeding on sleeping homeowners. Another called ecolune a "proper white knight."

Despite the challenges, ecolune was unable to complete their run without technically stealing. However, a portion of the community has taken a different approach, killing the entirety of the Mythic Dawn cult in Oblivion Remastered. Some players have even threatened the Imperial Guards for their armor.

Ecolune's video shows that they had zero days jailed, trespasses, assaults, murders, horses stolen, and other fun statistics, making their peaceful run a truly impressive achievement. For players wanting to roleplay a pacifist hero, this method presents a challenging but achievable playthrough in Oblivion Remastered.
