Sean "Diddy" Combs, the US rapper and billionaire known for hits like "I'll Be Missing You" and "Bad Boy For Life," is facing a series of legal challenges. The music icon, who has also gone by the pseudonyms Puff Daddy and P. Diddy, is currently incarcerated following his 2025 convictions on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

The legal troubles for Combs, aged 55, are not confined to the criminal sphere. Multiple civil lawsuits, at least 10 filed so far with up to 120 more pending, allege sexual abuse spanning several decades. These allegations involve both male and female plaintiffs, including minors, and reference assaults during the 2000s and 2010s. Many claimants allege being drugged, physically abused, or offered hush money, and some reported the abuse to authorities at the time.

In a recent development, Combs' lawyers have requested a postponement of his trial, scheduled for May 5, 2023. The postponement request was made to the district court in New York, with the intention of allowing Combs to prepare his defense against the new allegations. As of now, no further information about these new allegations has been disclosed.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to all federal criminal charges related to the sexual assault allegations, but he awaits sentencing following his 2025 convictions. Bail has been repeatedly denied due to violent behaviour and the absence of remorse, further highlighting the severity of his situation.

A law firm in Houston represents 120 people with allegations against Combs. The expanded indictment accuses Combs of bringing people into the country and across state borders for the purpose of prostitution. He is also accused of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, organized crime, and other offences.

Despite the mounting legal challenges, Combs has remained in custody since mid-September of 2022. The request for a trial postponement was reported by "USA Today" and other US media outlets, adding another layer of scrutiny to Combs' ongoing legal saga.
