Pittsburgh's 2026-2027 Broadway Season Unveils The Lion King, Tony Winners & Debuts

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has revealed its Broadway series lineup for the 2026-2027 season. Eleven productions will take the stage at the Benedum Center, including four shows making their Pittsburgh debut. Subscriptions for the series are now available to purchase online.

The season kicks off with The Lion King, running from September 9 to 27, 2026. Following that, Hadestown will be performed from October 27 to November 1, 2026. Later in November, audiences can catch The Notebook (November 10-15) and How The Grinch Stole Christmas (November 24-29).

In early 2027, Maybe Happy Ending—the 2025 Tony Award winner for Best Musical—will make its Pittsburgh premiere. The production, which began in Seoul in 2016 and had a celebrated Broadway run in 2024, plays from December 29, 2026, to January 3, 2027. The Sound of Music follows from January 19 to 24, 2027.

The season continues with The Phantom of the Opera from March 17 to 28, 2027. Closing the series is The Outsiders, a recent Tony winner for Best Musical, premiering in Pittsburgh on April 27, 2027. Six of the eleven shows have previously won the Tony Award for Best Musical.

The lineup features a mix of classic and contemporary productions, with several shows appearing in Pittsburgh for the first time. Tickets for the entire series are available through the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's website, offering audiences a chance to see award-winning and debut performances.
