In a remarkable display of pitching prowess, San Francisco Giants' ace, Logan Webb, tied a franchise record on Saturday by notching his 10th game of the season with 10 or more strikeouts and no walks. This impressive feat was achieved against the Oakland Athletics, as Webb struck out Nick Kurtz with a 91 mph sinker in the bottom of the 4th inning.

With this achievement, Webb has now reached 900 career strikeouts in the Major League Baseball (MLB). This milestone, reached during a game against the Athletics, marks a significant milestone in Webb's career, which began when he was drafted by the Giants in 2014 and made his MLB debut in 2019.

Since his debut, Webb has established himself as one of the Giants' top pitchers, known for his durability and effectiveness. His strikeout rate has notably increased in recent years, with 2025 seeing him average over 10 strikeouts per nine innings, a significant improvement on his previous averages.

However, despite Webb's impressive form, the Giants have struggled recently. Since acquiring Rafael Devers, the team has gone 11-17, with Devers himself struggling, hitting .215 with a .676 OPS. The trade for Devers has not significantly improved the Giants' performance in the standings, as they currently stand at 35-39, having won their last game 7-2.

Webb's elite strikeout-to-walk ratio continues in 2025, but a lack of run support has resulted in him being the only Giants pitcher to record 12 or more strikeouts with no walks in a game and lose. This unusual loss occurred on April 18, 2025, when Webb allowed one earned run with 12 Ks and no walks in six innings, but the Giants were shut out by the Los Angeles Angels.

Despite these challenges, Webb's 2.5 bWAR puts him on pace for his second-best season in the majors. He has also won his 8th game of the season against the A's, improving his record to 8-6. As of now, Bumgarner, Kevin Gausman, and Carlos Rodon are the only other Giants pitchers to accomplish this feat three times in a season, with Webb still having the second half of the year to break the record.

Webb's rapid ascent to the 900-strikeout milestone is also noteworthy. He needed only 165 games to reach this milestone, making him third in the fewest games for the Giants behind Tim Lincecum and Madison Bumgarner.

As the season progresses, fans will be eager to see if Webb can break the record for the most games with 10 or more strikeouts and no walks in a season, and if the Giants can turn their fortunes around.

During the 2025 season, Logan Webb's impressive strikeout-to-walk ratio has earned him a significant milestone, as he reached 900 career strikeouts in Major League Baseball (MLB). Additionally, Webb's unprecedented achievement of tying the Giants' record for the most games with 10 or more strikeouts and no walks in a single season highlights his exceptional pitching skills in sports, particularly baseball.
