Revved-Up Public-Private-People Partnerships (P4s) on the Horizon!

Get ready to witness the evolution of Public-Private-People Partnerships (P4s) as we Juice-Up this dynamic trio with technology, finance, and expertise! EQUIPPP and SMAAX, two powerhouses in their respective fields, have teamed up to revolutionize P4s in the domains of entertainment, sports, and the rural creator economy.

EQUIPPP, a leader in facilitating social impact ecosystems, partners with SMAAX Digitech Pvt. Ltd., the brains behind the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA), Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), and several other groundbreaking initiatives like INCA and the Streaming Academy Awards.

By partnering forces, these trailblazers aim to foster and develop P4s in unique ways. EQUIPPP boosts its ongoing efforts in the social impact arena by taking a 51% equity stake in SMAAX and pumping in an additional ₹115 crore, ensuring a stronghold on SMAAX's media-tech portfolio, which includes SIIMA, CCL, INCA, and the Streaming Academy Awards. The post-consolidation enterprise value of SMAAX caps out at ₹1150 crore, setting the stage for structured and synchronized growth.

EQUIPPP is the mastermind behind P4, a framework that's taking the nation by storm. The Telugu states, known for their diaspora of successful minds worldwide, have started adopting the P4 approach to accelerate their holistic development efforts, illustrated by Telangana's "industry-led, industry-benefiting" BFSI skill development program, implemented in a P4 manner, and partnerships like T-Fiber that connect 26,000 schools to the internet.

States like Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh are also jumping on the P4 bandwagon, adopting policies to eradicate poverty and pursuing outcome-based funding models.

The initial focus of this collaboration will be co-developing P4s across entertainment, sports, and the rural creator economy through a Phygital model. By combining physical and digital components, this venture paves the way for wider sector-wise and geographical participation, elevating and enhancing the presence of P4s.

Vindhya Dronamraju, a whole-time director at EQUIPPP, commented, "EQUIPPP initially began as an online platform fostering connections between investors and interested parties for common social causes. In 2019, we joined hands with the authors of Columbia University Press's Social Value Investing Framework to bring their groundbreaking book to India." She added, "I am thrilled to finally see the P4 collaboration model come to life after ten years. With SMAAX in our corner, we can bring the sports and entertainment sectors into the P4 fold, making them truly immersive and interactive."

Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Director at SMAAX, articulated, "This partnership with EQUIPPP sets the stage for the conversion of ambitious ideas into tangible impacts using the P4 model. Together, we envision launching Balloon Theatres under the P4 framework, collaborating with local entrepreneurs and CSR partners to create shared revenue opportunities. Also, we will create Rural Sports Leagues for popular sports like Kabaddi, Cricket, Volleyball, and Athletics, co-owned by private partners, supported by local governments, and managed by rural entrepreneurs." He concluded, "EQUIPPP and SMAAX are teaming up to design the blueprint for the future of P4s, powered by creativity, collaboration, and cultural capital, fostering widespread sector-wise and geographical participation through Phygital formats."

Technology will play a significant role in the growth and development of Public-Private-People Partnerships (P4s), as EQUIPPP invests in SMAAX's media-tech portfolio, which includes sports awards like the Streaming Academy Awards.

The collaboration between EQUIPPP and SMAAX aims to expand P4s in the entertainment, sports, and rural creator economy, utilizing a Phygital model that combines physical and digital components to achieve wider sector-wise and geographical participation.
