Philippine Madrigal Singers Wow Thai Audience in 'An Evening of Harmony'
The Philippine Embassy in Thailand recently hosted a captivating concert, 'An Evening of Harmony', which attracted an audience of 200 guests. The event was a celebration of musical diversity and cultural exchange. The Philippine Madrigal Singers (MADZ), under the direction of Prof Mark Anthony A Carpio, took centre stage. They performed a rich repertoire, including Asian, European, Filipino, and Thai musical pieces. The highlight of the evening was a tribute to Thai cultural icon Kamala Sukosol, with a rendition of her song 'Live and Learn'. The special event was supported by both Philippine and Thai institutional partners, as well as corporate sponsors. While specific details about the 2025 Thailand International Choral Festival are yet to be announced, the MADZ is known for collaborating with notable institutions like the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The tribute to Kamala Sukosol earned a standing ovation, symbolising the deep friendship between the Philippines and Thailand.
