Fresh & Scooped: New Face to Lead State Philharmonic Rhineland-Palatinate - Intendant Bids Adieu
Philharmonic State Authority announces management change: Outgoing Intendant steps down. - Philharmonic's New Administration: Ousted Director Replaced
Hey there! Got a tad somethin' scorchin' hot for your musical senses. German Ministry of Culture's fickle-green queen, Katharina Binz (that's right, we're talkin' Greens here), is goin' to drop the new captain at the helm of the State Philharmonic Rhineland-Palatinate this spring. The current Maestro, Beat Fehlmann, yea, that Swiss fella born in '74, is packin' his conductin' baton to ruling roost at the Liechtenstein Music Academy in Vaduz as of September 2025.
A long-time presence in Ludwigshafen, Fehlmann took the stage as Intendant back in 2018 and's had a pretty sweet gig since. Under his watch, they hosted a killer gala for the 100th state orchestra anniversary, raked in some prestigious nods, and saw a whopping increase in subscription numbers. He was set to continue the ride until 2028, but it looks like we gotta say "wish you the best, boss!" this coming spring. Binz will be helpin' him introduce his successor at an imminent pressie event.
Now, ring those bells! The new guy comin' into the State Philharmonic Rhineland-Palatinate circuit is none other than Michael Becker. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground for more details on this profound musical shift.
- Michael Becker (possibly the new Intendant)
- Katharina Binz (Minister of Culture)
- State Philharmonic Rhineland-Palatinate
- Ludwigshafen
- Beat Fehlmann (outgoing Intendant)
- Rhineland-Palatinate
- Switzerland (Fehlmann's origin country)
- Liechtenstein Music Academy (Fehlmann's new gig)
Katharina Binz, the Minister of Culture from Germany, has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the protection of animals and the processing of personal data. Michael Becker, who is likely to be the new Intendant, will be introduced at an imminent press event for the State Philharmonic Rhineland-Palatinate, replacing Beat Fehlmann who originates from Switzerland and will be moving to the Liechtenstein Music Academy in Vaduz starting from September 2025. A long-time presence in Ludwigshafen, Fehlmann served as Intendant in Rhineland-Palatinate since 2018.
