Philanthropist Bayan Alaguzova Wins Defamation Lawsuit, Sentence for Defendant
Bayan Alaguzova, a philanthropist and community leader, has won a defamation lawsuit against Dana Ormanbayeva. The Almaty court ruled in her favor, marking a significant victory for Alaguzova who has dedicated her life to helping those in need.
Alaguzova, known for her charitable work with students, single mothers, and children with disabilities, found herself at the center of a public dispute. In June 2024, she pursued legal action against Ormanbayeva, filing two lawsuits - one for defamation and another to protect her honor and reputation.
The court proceedings were a first for Alaguzova, who emphasized the importance of maintaining one's dignity. She expressed her belief that public disputes degrade both parties involved. Following the trial, Ormanbayeva was sentenced to two years in prison for her actions.
