Philadelphia Phillies secure NL East title, commencing 'Red October' playoffs journey; find out how to catch the action
The Philadelphia Phillies have clinched their second straight National League East Division title, securing a place in the National League Division Series which begins on October 4.
Last year, the Mets defeated the Phillies in the NL Division Series. However, this year, the team is determined to turn the tables and advance further in the playoffs.
The World Series will be broadcast on Fox, and all playoff games for the Phillies will be nationally televised on ESPN, TBS, and FS1.
Kyle Schwarber, the All-Star Game MVP, leads the league in RBIs and is second in the league in home runs. He is supported by a strong team that includes Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Alec Bohm, Ranger Suárez, and Cristopher Sánchez, among others.
The Phillies are aiming to add more flags to Citizens Bank Park, including an additional NL Pennant and a World Series victory. They are hoping to win their third World Series title this fall, adding to their 1980 and 2008 titles.
Unfortunately, the team has faced some setbacks. Ace pitcher Zack Wheeler is out for the rest of the season due to venous thoracic outlet syndrome. Additionally, reliever José Álvarado is suspended for the entire postseason due to a failed drug test for receiving external testosterone.
Despite these challenges, the team remains optimistic. Fans who want to attend a game in person at Citizens Bank Park can register for the opportunity to buy tickets. Last year, fans stormed Broad Street when the Phils won the NL Pennant after defeating the San Diego Padres, and this year, they are hoping for another celebration.
As the Phillies prepare for the playoffs, they are determined to add more glory to their storied history. The NL and AL Wild Card games are set to take place from September 30 to October 1, and the Phillies are ready to make their mark.
