PGA and ESPN Bet plan to introduce a fresh betting stream
The PGA Tour has announced a multiyear agreement with Penn Entertainment, designating ESPN Bet as an official betting operator of the PGA Tour. Under this agreement, ESPN Bet will be the official sportsbook partner featured across PGA Tour platforms.
The partnership integrates ESPN Bet's branding and services into PGA Tour content and marketing, leveraging ESPN’s multiplatform reach and Penn Entertainment’s sportsbook operations to enhance fan engagement and betting experience throughout the PGA Tour season.
The new feed, called ESPN Bet on PGA Tour Live, will debut on ESPN+ at the WM Phoenix Open on Feb. 6, 2025. The stream will provide live golf coverage in the two hours leading up to the linear broadcast window, offering an early look at key storylines from a betting perspective.
The stream will utilise the PGA Tour's in-depth ShotLink powered by CDW data for its analysis and coverage. It will also cover the WM Phoenix Open and return for The Players Championship (March 13-16), as well as three signature events: Truist Championship (May 8-11), Memorial Tournament presented by Workday (May 29-June 1), and Travelers Championship (June 19-22).
The final ESPN Bet on PGA Tour Live program will broadcast from TPC Southwind at Memphis, Tennessee, site of the FedEx St. Jude Championship (Aug. 7-10), the opening event of the FedExCup Playoffs.
Host Jonathan Coachman, on-course reporter Michael Collins, and analysts including Matt Every and Graham DeLaet will present content and discussion on hole-by-hole live betting and tournament markets.
The agreement between the PGA Tour and Penn Entertainment was first established in 2022, and it aims to create a compelling sports-watching experience for fans and bettors of the PGA Tour. ESPN Bet is currently available in 20 U.S. markets, and it offers responsible gaming tools as part of its commitment to safe gaming.
Tim Bunnell, senior vice president, ESPN Programming and International, mentioned that bringing these unique partnerships together is an important strategy in ESPN’s commitment to covering and expanding the audience for world-class golf. Penn rebranded its sports book as ESPN Bet in states where sports betting is legal and licensed.
This engagement is part of the PGA Tour's goal to create a competition feed with a focus on odds and wagers, which is being realised with the support of Penn Entertainment.
