Pete Davidson Shares One Bad Aspect of Joining 'SNL50' Celebration

Pete Davidson, a former Saturday Night Live (SNL) cast member, recently opened up about his experience at SNL50 and the unexpected seating arrangement that had him sitting next to Hollywood legend Meryl Streep.

During a conversation with Seth Meyers on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Davidson shared his thoughts on the SNL audience, stating that he found it "terrible." The studio audience for SNL50 included a star-studded lineup, including Blake Lively, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Miley Cyrus, Pedro Pascal, and Tom Hanks. However, Davidson felt that the atmosphere was less than ideal due to the audience being composed mostly of famous people who "only like themselves."

Despite the unsupportive audience, Davidson participated in two sketches during SNL50, one live and another pretaped. He seemed particularly nervous about the live sketch, admitting that it was more nerve-wracking than the pretaped one. Interestingly, Davidson revealed that he did not get to play a more "flattering" character during SNL50, but being seated next to Meryl Streep was a definite plus.

The seating arrangement for Meryl Streep at SNL50 was not known until the day of the event. It was then that Davidson found himself sitting next to the acclaimed actress. He expressed his excitement about the encounter, but also seemed a bit surprised. Despite this, Streep was very nice to Davidson during the event, and he even went as far as to apologize for sitting next to her.

Davidson's dating history includes a string of A-list stars, but it seems that the encounter with Streep left a lasting impression. It's safe to say that this was a memorable experience for the comedian, and one that he won't soon forget.

Some SNL alums, such as Bill Hader and Andy Samberg, skipped the star-studded event for valid reasons, but Tina Fey, Eddie Murphy, and Martin Short were among those who showed up to celebrate the milestone anniversary.
