In Civitavecchia, Italy, Italian racing driver Fabio Barone made history by breaking the world record for the fastest car on a boat. The record-breaking event took place on an aircraft carrier, though the exact name of the ship remains undisclosed.

Barone, behind the wheel of a red-and-black Ferrari SF90, reached a breathtaking speed of 164 kilometers per hour (101.9 mph). His car was unveiled with a red, satiny cover, adding an extra touch of excitement to the already anticipation-filled atmosphere.

The "Top Gun" theme song played as Barone's team was lifted to the deck by the carrier's portside elevator. A group of children with Down syndrome were present, serving as honorary "mechanics for the day".

Despite the wet conditions due to the ship being out at sea overnight, the flight deck was later dried. However, race engineer Alessandro Tedino expressed doubts about the achievability of the new record given the conditions.

Last year, Barone set the Italian Timekeepers Federation's record on another aircraft carrier in southern Italy, reaching 94.4 mph. This time, he aimed to reach at least 99.4 mph. His hard work and determination paid off, as the new speed record on a ship was officially declared by the timekeeper.

After breaking the record, Barone lifted his arms and hugged his crew, a moment of pure joy and relief. Reporters swarmed around him, eager to hear his thoughts on this monumental achievement.

Guinness World Records has expressed interest in reviewing Barone's latest attempt. His team will submit their certified result for review, potentially securing Barone's place in the Guinness World Records book.

This historic event marks a significant milestone in the world of speed records, and Fabio Barone's name will forever be etched in the annals of automotive history.
