Oops, Kiwi's Away from the Garden Show!

Person disappears from TV Garden, identified as Andrea Kiewel.

Bummer alert! Andrea Kiewel, our cherished host of the ZDF "Garden Show," won't be gracing our screens this Sunday due to a challenging situation in Israel. The channel spilled the beans on Saturday.

Spookily enough, our favorite kiwi's absence is being felt on the show already — the show's 25th season kicked off on May 4th, and participants like Guildo Horn (62), Marianne Rosenberg (70), Guido Maria Kretschmer (60), Eko Fresh (41), and Peter Schilling (69) were all set to roll.

But Kiwi's got her wings clipped: Israel's sudden attack on Iran's military targets and nuclear facilities, followed by an Iranian counterstrike, has caused quite the commotion. The Ben Gurion Airport is now closed for all flights, leaving our beloved host stuck.

ZDF Pulls a Rabbit Outta Hat

Good news, folks! The ZDF's got their thinking caps on — they've found a backup plan: "Let's Dance" juror Joachim Llambi (60) was already lined up as a co-host for the show. He'll be joined by Lutz van der Horst (49), who was once a guest.

Excited to see how the ZDF manages to incorporate their beloved host into the show despite her absence! Kiwi's been residing in Tel Aviv for years by choice, as she's bonkers about her Israeli partner. Last year, she told T-Online, "I live in Israel because I want to. Here I feel at home, as a Jew, as an East Berliner, as Andrea. It was my life decision."

Typically, Kiwi darts back to Israel after the show's wrapped. In a 2020 BILD am SONNTAG interview, she shared, "During the 'Garden Show' season, I usually make sure I hop onto a plane at 6 PM on Sunday and reach my small apartment in Tel Aviv at midnight."

Stay tuned for more updates on our beloved host's return and the show's exciting lineup of guests!

P.S. The ZDF Garden Show is a beloved Sunday morning program known for its entertainment, music, and service content. The show is broadcast live from Mainzer Lerchenberg, offering a lively outdoor setting during summer months. Kiewel's absence might leave a noticeable gap in the show's atmosphere and engagement among viewers.

Despite Andrea Kiewel's absence due to circumstances in Israel, the ZDF Garden Show will still provide entertainment with Joachim Llambi and Lutz van der Horst co-hosting. Kiewel, who usually resides in Israel, expresses her love for the country, stating, "I live in Israel because I want to."
