Permanent Secretary in Taraba Passes Away at Hospital in Abuja

Head of Service, Dr. Ahmed Kara, confirmed the news stating, "On behalf of His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, I wish to announce the passing away of Mr Dauda Maikomo..." Simultaneously, the Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, addressed claims concerning the death of his late sister, Atsi Kefas, who was killed six months prior. Many believed Atsi was a victim of a bandit attack. However, Kefas disclosed that a police escort attached to his mother shot and killed Atsi while they were traveling from Jalingo to Abuja. The investigation revealed that the officer had shot Atsi at close range, and pellets were found in her body during the autopsy.
Observing a minute of silence for Atsi and the over 50 individuals who lost their lives in a recent herders' attack in Karim-Lamido local government area of the state, Kefas encouraged residents to promote peace and unity. He shared that a commission of enquiry would be established to investigate the crisis and establish lasting peace in the affected region.
Kefas expressed regret over the senseless loss of lives in the crisis and emphasized that anyone found disturbing the peace would face legal consequences.
