Almuth Schult, the 32-year-old former soccer goalkeeper, is set to become a permanent fixture in ARD's live soccer broadcasts. Starting out as an expert and co-commentator, she'll bring her insight to both women's and men's soccer. Eager to share her experiences and make new connections, Schult expressed gratitude towards ARD for the opportunity.

ARD sports coordinator Axel Balkausky praised Schult's expertise, analyzing skills, and friendly demeanor from their collaborations on previous major men's soccer events. Given her impressive track record, it comes as no surprise that Schult's smooth transition into broadcasting was welcomed by the team.

In the past, Schult has lent her expertise to ARD special events, such as the 2021 European Men's Football Championship and most recently, the 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. She also holds co-commentator positions on DAZN's major soccer events, including the men's Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League, and the UEFA Women's Champions League.

Throughout her career, Schult secured numerous victories, including six championships with VfL Wolfsburg, eight cup titles, and the 2014 Champions League win. Her accolades also include triumphs with the German national team, such as the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the 2013 European Championships in Sweden. All told, she represented the DFB team in 66 matches.

As a testament to her impact within the soccer community, Schult's transformation from player to expert commentator demonstrates her versatility and passion for the sport. Dedicated to her role, Schult's future with ARD and DAZN promises an engaging blend of knowledge and enthusiasm.
