Time's Ticking: Until March 17, Hannover 96 must lodge their application for another season in professional football. However, the ongoing disagreement at the second division club shows no signs of resolution, potentially leading to a forced relegation.

The proposed solution to Hannover 96's license-threatening dispute over the appointment of the business manager is on the brink of collapse. Initially, a resolution seemed within reach: Marcus Mann, the current sports director, was slated for promotion to sports business manager, and Henning Bindzus, former marketing director of Hamburger SV, was to be appointed as the financial business manager.

However, a statement from Hannover 96 Sales & Service GmbH & Co. KG reveals differences in the documents received from the club, compared to the compromise agreement that had been under discussion for the appointment of the business management of Hannover 96 GmbH & Co. KGaA in recent weeks. Since some of the content is brand new, a swift resolution appears unlikely.

The leaders of the e.V. and the shareholders of the outsourced professional football entity, Hannover 96 GmbH & Co. KGaA, have been at odds for years. Following the dismissal of long-time professional business manager Martin Kind last year, neither party has reached an agreement on a suitable successor. According to the licensing regulations of the German Football League, the club requires a business manager to sign the license application, which must be submitted by March 17.

Football Press:Martin Kind, the former business manager, commented to Bild that the situation was getting tense, "Suddenly, there are a lot of points where things are sticking again. It feels like everything is back on the table." He indicated that it was time for a temporary interim solution.

Board Vice Robin Krakau told Bild, "The club side has submitted all the necessary documents—they're available. That means the articles of association, the distribution of business, and the resolution on the appointment of the two business managers for our company are in place. According to our understanding, it's now just a matter of discussing certain contract details concerning Mr. Mann with the capital side."
