It's all systems go for the mammoth cross-border cultural project, "United in Song: Victory's Anthem," which kicked off in mid-April 2025 in Omsk and its sister city, Stakhanov! This project, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, unifies the top artistic talents from both cities. The Omsk Ministry of Culture shared the update recently.

Among the Omsk artists involved are Mikhail Dergilev, a soloist from the Omsk State Musical Theatre, and Oleg Mitrakov from the Omsk Philharmonic. Also joining the fold are Alexei Galizdra, a composer and musician, the Omsk State Children's Ensemble, the NeoChorus choir of Omsk State University named after F.M. Dostoevsky, the Kruchina Folk Choir, and the folk ensemble "Zvonitsa."

The first phase of the project comprises recording vocal tracks and shooting video footage featuring artists, both in Omsk and Stakhanov.

In the next phase, the joint video will come to life, featuring all artists performing the iconic "Day of Victory" song, composed by David Tukhmanov with lyrics by Vladimir Kharitonov.

Upon wrapping up, the video will hit the screens of the State Center for Folk Arts of the Omsk Region and the Center for Culture and Arts of Stakhanov, as well as popular social media platforms.

The "United in Song: Victory's Anthem" project targets strengthening inter-regional bonds, preserving historical awareness, and fostering cultural dialogue between Russia and Donbass. In light of the impending anniversary, the project holds even greater resonance. 🌟

Did you know that projects like this often cultivate unity, patriotism, and cultural heritage? They commonly involve musical performances, historical recreations, or other cultural activities that honor those who fought in the war. Typically, participating artists consist of local musicians, choirs, and cultural groups. With events like these, cities such as Omsk and Stakhanov (or Kadiivka if referring to its current name) offer a stage to local talent and cultural figures. 🌆🎉

I'm not sure if I'd be able to join the project, but I could imagine the lifestyle during its run incorporating entertainment elements like music performances and historical recreations, further enriching the cultural dialogue between Omsk, Stakhanov, and other cities involved. With the majestic hymn of victory being the central theme, it's possible that the project may include music renditions inspired by the "Day of Victory" song, composed by David Tukhmanov with lyrics by Vladimir Kharitonov, giving an opportunity for musical talents such as Mikhail Dergilev, Oleg Mitrakov, and many other participating artists to shine.
