Performers from 'Luzia' bring a ray of sunshine to patients at Children's National Hospital.
The performers from Cirque du Soleil's enchanting show, "Luzia," took a break from Under the Big Top in Tysons last Friday afternoon. Instead, they visited Children's National Hospital in Washington, bringing a touch of magic and wonder to the young patients.
Mikael Bruyere, an acrobat involved with "Luzia," was one of the performers who graced the atrium of the hospital with their presence. Known for his awe-inspiring performances on the Swing 360 apparatus, Mikael expressed great joy about being able to visit Children's National Hospital and bring a smile to the faces of the children.
The entertainers treated the young patients to a delightful show, filled with dancing, tricks, and the display of beautiful costumes. One particularly special moment occurred when Yohanna Abebe, a 5-year-old patient, participated in the entertainment, mimicking some of the performers' moves.
Mikael, who is a dad himself, shared that he was thrilled to be able to bring a moment of joy and distraction to the children, allowing them to leave their hospital rooms and doctors' appointments, even if just for a while.
"Luzia" is currently performing in Tysons and will continue until October 18. The hospital visit was a testament to the performers' commitment to spreading joy and making a difference in the lives of those they encounter.
