Pianist Vijay Iyer, a celebrated figure in the jazz world, is set to perform at UCLA Royce Hall on March 3, 2023. This highly-anticipated event is part of the UCLA Musicology Distinguished Lecture Series, a programme that invites renowned artists and scholars to share their insights and inspire students.
Iyer's performance at UCLA will feature a collaboration with the UCLA Jazz Ensemble, an ensemble praised for its innovative approach to jazz performance. The UCLA Jazz Ensemble is directed by saxophonist Kamau Kenyatta.

Iyer's visit to UCLA is part of a broader tour that includes performances in various cities across the United States. Apart from UCLA, Iyer is also scheduled to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., as part of the Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Festival.
The concert at UCLA Royce Hall will include a variety of jazz standards and original compositions by Vijay Iyer. Tickets for this exciting event can be purchased online through the UCLA Live website.
