Nathalia Milstein: Rising Star in the World of Classical Music
Nathalia Milstein, a French pianist born in 1995, is making waves in the classical music world. With a strong family background in music, Milstein started her piano lessons at the tender age of four with her father, Serguei Milstein. She went on to complete her formal studies in piano performance, and her talent was soon recognized.
In 2015, Milstein won the First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Dublin. Since then, she has established herself as a versatile performer, with a repertoire that includes a substantial collection of Chopin’s works and chamber music like Mozart’s Piano Trio K 542.
Milstein's career reached new heights in 2025 when she became a finalist in the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition for piano. The competition, held in Brussels from May 26 to 31, saw Milstein perform Kris Defoort’s Music for the Heart and a concerto of her choosing with the Brussels Philharmonic under conductor Kazushi Ono. The competition jury acknowledged her performance, awarding her a €4,000 prize in August 2025.
Looking ahead, Milstein's upcoming performances include tours in Asia and Brazil for major prize winners at Queen Elisabeth. In the 2021/22 season, she will perform as part of Sir András Schiff's curated concert series "Building Bridges" in various European locations.
On October 24th, the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss will open its season at Neuss City Hall. The concert will be conducted by Christoph Koncz and will feature soloist Nathalia Milstein. While specific upcoming concert dates beyond 2025 have not been detailed, Milstein's status as a competition laureate and concert pianist typically entails further solo recitals and touring opportunities.

Milstein has already performed at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Gewandhaus, Pierre Boulez Saal, and the Radio France Auditorium. In her upcoming performance, she will perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, op. 19, and Schubert's Symphony No. 5.
