A special lecture titled "Opera Essentials: Bel Canto" was held on Tuesday at the Peruvian ambassador's residence in Seoul. The art event, organised by the Corea Image Communication Institute (CICI), attracted a diverse group of attendees, including industry leaders and arts enthusiasts. The main event, delivered by an unspecified speaker, focused on the historical and cultural significance of the Bel Canto opera style. It highlighted the influence of Bel Canto on modern opera and its continued relevance. The attendees engaged in a question-and-answer session following the lecture, allowing for a deeper exploration of the topics presented. In attendance were Lee Sung-ju, former president of the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts, and Kim Kwi-yeon, president of CITIAP. Kim expressed his hopes for future collaborations between Korean and Peruvian arts institutions. Didier Beltoise, president of Cs, was also present and delivered a speech during the event, expressing his appreciation for the cultural exchange. Choi Jung-wha, president of CICI, expressed her gratitude to all attendees for their support and interest in the event. She also announced that the Corea Image Communication Institute would provide additional resources for further study of Bel Canto opera. The event concluded with a reception, offering attendees the opportunity to network and discuss the topics presented during the lecture. Notable figures in attendance included Bang Eugene, chairman of Millenasia, and Choi Sung-soon, president of MID, who were both seated in the second row. Jeanette Somocurcio, spouse of the Peruvian ambassador, was also in attendance. The lecture on "Opera Essentials: Bel Canto" provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to delve into the rich history and cultural significance of the Bel Canto opera style.
