Percy Jackson's Olympians Season 2 Sneak Peek Analysis
Prepare for an epic return to the world of Greek mythology as Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, based on Rick Riordan's beloved series, premieres on Disney+ on December 10, 2025.
A year has passed since Percy Jackson (played by Walker Scobell) last visited Camp Half-Blood, only to find it under threat. The magical borders protecting the demigods' sanctuary have been poisoned, putting everyone at risk. The main plot of the season revolves around Percy's quest to find his missing friend Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and the Golden Fleece, the only thing capable of saving the camp's protective magic.
Joining Percy on his journey are Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), Clarisse (Dior Goodjohn), and his newfound cyclops half-brother Tyson (Daniel Diemer). Together, they embark on an odyssey into the treacherous Sea of Monsters, facing various mythological threats such as giants, cannibalistic creatures, sirens, harpies, and deadly whirlpools.
The group boards a mysterious cruise ship called the Princess Andromeda, where they encounter Luke (Charlie Bushnell), who is recruiting demigods to his side to bring down Camp Half-Blood and Olympus altogether. Percy refuses and narrowly escapes with his friends. Along their journey, they must battle monsters and overcome personal challenges, such as Annabeth confronting her own hubris—the dangerous flaw of excessive pride.
Tyson, a child of Poseidon, works in the underwater forge but is mentally 7 years old due to the Cyclopes' ageing process. Timothy Simons plays Tantalus, who has been employed as Chiron's replacement, but has been framed by Luke and Kronos.
The season is filled with exciting developments, including a dramatic opening voiceover from Poseidon (Tobey Stephens) saying, "A great stirring is on the way." The teaser trailer premiered last week, giving viewers a glimpse of Scylla, a sea monster who has mixed descriptions but generally is top half a woman, with tentacles, and either dog heads or serpent heads from the waist down.
The Sea of Monsters is really Clarisse's story, as she joins Percy and Annabeth on their journey, with the three fates making an appearance in the trailer, passing one eye between them in a comedic moment. Percy and Annabeth are featured in a lot of scenes together, where they form a bond in the Sea of Monsters.
The teaser also reveals Lin Manuel-Miranda as Luke's father and the god Hermes, but it does not reveal much about how Tyson's age lore will be depicted in Season 2. The CGI for Tyson's singular eye looks good in the teaser.
