In a recent survey conducted among economically active city dwellers in Krasnodar, it was found that the perceived amount of money needed for happiness has been on the rise. The current estimated figure stands at 252,000 rubles, a significant increase from 222,000 rubles in April 2024 and 245,000 rubles in September of the previous year.

The survey, though unattributed, showed that only 6% of the city's residents gave a completely negative response, while 21% reported feeling unhappy. On the other hand, 31% of the residents are absolutely happy, with an additional 48% leaning towards happiness.

Interestingly, the age group of 35 to 45-year-olds appears to be the most optimistic, with one in three being absolutely happy. This optimism is also more prevalent among women and parents, as well as among married residents, compared to their respective counterparts.

The survey also revealed a gender divide in the reported amount for happiness. Women in Krasnodar need 235,000 rubles a month to be happy, while men require 280,000 rubles, indicating a difference of 45,000 rubles.

The reported amount for happiness has seen a substantial increase over the years, with a 100,000 ruble jump compared to a decade ago. Since September 2024, the figure has risen by 10,000 rubles, and by an additional 7,000 rubles since last September.

Another 15% of the city's residents leaned towards negativity in the survey, with the share of those who are rather happy among women and men being roughly equal.

It's worth noting that the name of the investigator or organization that conducted the survey on the satisfaction of residents of Krasnodar was not provided. However, the findings suggest a fascinating insight into the financial aspirations and perceived levels of happiness among Krasnodar's residents.

On a national scale, an average Russian adult over 18 needs 257,000 rubles a month to be happy, which represents a 3% increase compared to September 2024 and a 47% rise compared to 10 years ago.
