In Chemnitz, an unnamed 82-year-old pensioner found himself in hot water due to a parking space dispute. The event unfolded on the Sonnenberg, where two parties clashed over a desired parking space. The story took a turn when the senior, identified as Wilfried E., reportedly hit a woman, Heike N., who was attempting to park in front of him with a hand brush.
The confrontation between the elderly man and the service employee at the local hospital was fiery. Wilfried E. claimed he feared damaging his vehicle, which had already sustained scratches. Heike N., however, told a different story. She reported that Wilfried E. became aggressive, pushing her away and hitting her arm with the hand brush. Following the incident, another resident intervened, capturing the Golf's license plate and alerting the authorities.
The district court in Chemnitz came to a decision with contradictory testimonies in mind. The court believed Heike N.'s account and offered Wilfried E. the chance to drop the charges if he paid a 500 euro fine to the Gulf driver. Shockingly, Wilfried E., with no prior criminal record, declined the offer, adamant that he was not guilty.
Judge Kai Schüler (59) saw no other choice but to fine Wilfried E. 30 daily rates of 45 euros each, amounting to 1350 euros. Although the dispute started over a precious parking space, the outcome was far from simple.
