Peine's district heating overhaul starts April 2026 with brief supply cuts

Major renovation work on the district heating network along Fuhsering in Peine is set to begin in April 2026. The project will upgrade a key section of the system, stretching from the Fuhseblick residential park toward Theodor-Heuss-Straße and continuing to Fuhsebrücke near the P3 area. Authorities aim to improve efficiency and ensure long-term supply reliability for local households. Construction will start on Monday, April 13, 2026, with an expected completion date of June 5, 2026, assuming favourable weather conditions. The entire project should take around eight weeks to finish.

Residents in the affected areas will face temporary disruptions. A three-day district heating supply interruption is planned from April 3 to April 5, 2026. Additionally, a one-day supply pause will occur toward the end of the works, with households receiving prior notification by letter. Motorists and residents should also prepare for temporary restrictions during the construction period. The upgrades will focus on modernising the network to enhance performance and reduce future maintenance needs.

The renovation project will last until early June, weather permitting. Once completed, the improved district heating system should provide more reliable and efficient service to Peine's residents. Affected households have been advised of the planned interruptions and traffic adjustments.
