Caught on Camera: Traffic Violator Nabbed via Social Media

Pedestrian Cited for Using Sidewalk Illegally in Krasnodar

The Krasnodar traffic cops have nabbed a reckless driver who decided to cruise down the sidewalk on Northern Street. This traffic offense was uncovered during their diligent surveillance of social media and other online resources.

As per the police department's press statement, a flashy, foreign-made automobile was found illegally parked after a ride through the pedestrian zone. Upon reaching the site, the inspectors handed out two administrative citations to a 28-year-old resident of Kurganinsk.

The penalty for this misdemeanor? A hefty fine of 3,000 rubles.

The perpetrator confessed to his wrongdoing and apologized to the city folks for the commotion, vowing to respect traffic regulations moving forward.

In a similar incident, a booze-addled driver rammed into a patrol vehicle during a high-speed chase in Kuban. The law enforcers punished the speedster with six citations.

While digital platforms like VKontakte, Classmates, Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp could be potential reporting channels, it's uncertain if Russian authorities actively monitor these platforms for traffic infractions. The overwhelming trend in Russia is internet control, with deliberate slowdowns on platforms like YouTube and blocks on Facebook, suggesting official digital enforcement might be limited to traditional methods.
