Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder performs a seldom-heard track using a guitar gifted by Jack White, renowned musician from the White Stripes.
Jack White's Made-for-Legends Guitars
The rockin' legend, Jack White, continues to share his one-of-a-kind instruments with fellow musicians he admires. His most recent gift? A signature Fender Acoustasonic to Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, which Vedder rocked out onstage in Nashville while playing Green Disease.
Last year, White dropped a bomb of signature Fender gear, including the badass Triplecaster and an amp loaded with surprises. Metaphorically speaking, of course. Vedder received the latter, and it made its live debut in Music City on May 6.
"This is my new guitar, courtesy of Mr. Jack White, another legend-in-the-making. He's such a fantastic human," Vedder told the crowd.
Speaking of White's Third Man Hardware company, known for drool-worthy pedals like the Knife Drop, Vedder says, "The secret to having a quality product and making money? You ain't gonna make a dime, but you'll make people grin. That's what Jack's all about. I'm damn proud to call him a pal, and thanks to Jack for my sweet new axe."
Vedder's enthusiastic performance of Green Disease was a perfect fit for the song's punk spirit.

Vedder joins a growing list of musicians who've nabbed a taste of White's signature swag. White and Living Color's Vernon Reid exchanged impromptu signature guitars at an airport, while Kirk Hammett joked that "Greeny's feeling a bit left out" after Hammett took the Triplecaster for a spin. White even got a production model of Greeny in return and once performed with the original Greeny on stage.
White's signature collection has also shone a light on up-and-coming talents. For instance, he gave his favorite Japanese based guitarist a Triplecaster.
Fender's collaboration with White doesn't stop with the Triplecaster; their partnership includes other signature instruments like the iconic Jack White Signature Triplesonic Limited-Edition Acoustasonic Telecaster. However, it's difficult to find specific details about musicians who have received this guitar.
As a member of the White Stripes, White will join the likes of Soundgarden in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later this year. The guitar maestro is responsible for crafting one of the most searched-for guitar riffs and has a knack for unexpected live performances.
Earlier this year, he took to Instagram for a heated rant about playing live and why you'll never catch him playing a three-hour show. In November, he shared the stage with Paul McCartney in Mexico to jam some Beatles tunes.
