Spanish News Programs See Growth in Viewership and Share
Spanish news programs have seen a significant increase in viewership and share in recent months, according to the latest ratings data.
The Telediario Matinal, broadcast in the morning, remains the absolute leader in its time slot with 179,000 viewers and a 21.6% share. Alex Barreiro continues with the program, joined by Lorena Baeza. Notably, the Telediario Matinal has grown by 2.3 points compared to June and achieved its best viewer and share data since November 2024 and July 2024, respectively.
Alejandra Herranz will continue with the 3 pm Telediario, while Pepa Bueno returns to the Corporation to lead the evening Telediario.
The Telediario Fin de Semana 1 has 1.050,000 viewers and a 12.4% share, achieving its best share in a July since 2021. The Telediario Fin de Semana 2 follows closely behind with 957,000 viewers and a 11.6% share.
The Telediario 1 has 1.121,000 viewers and a 12.6% share, its second-best of the year. The Telediario 2 has 964,000 viewers and a 11.3% share.
In a positive development, the regional news has grown by 3.9 points and 181,000 viewers since April. On July 21, the regional news reached a new peak in share in its new location, with a 12.2%. The regional news maintains its position as 'Always Ahead'.
The Corporation is reinforcing its teams for the 2025/2026 academic year to continue being the reference and the largest generator of audiovisual news content in the country. They are also betting on greater proximity, responding to citizens' needs to be more connected to their immediate surroundings in the renewal of regional news.
'La noche en 24 horas' reaches 175,000 viewers and a 2% share, its best July performance ever. Marc Sala and Lourdes Maldonado will lead the weekend Telediarios.
For the first time in years, the Telediario Matinal will continue to be broadcast in August. In specific regions, the following standouts on that day: Madrid Community (12.3%), Valencian Community (18.3%), Basque Country (15.9%), Catalonia (12.8%), Aragon (12.1%), Murcia (13.5%), Navarre (17.6%), Castilla-La Mancha (11.5%), and Castile and León (16.2%).
With these impressive ratings, Spanish news programs continue to solidify their position as a trusted source of information for the Spanish-speaking audience.
